Bloggy Giveaway: Fun Kids Chair

Bloggy Giveaway visitors, welcome to The Well-Rounded Woman, I'm your hostess, Tara. Before I talk about my giveaway, please read a little about my blog.

As women, we find our lives very full and often sliced into many little pieces. We have developed a wide range of interests, hobbies, and skills, all of which help in our many roles and responsibilities. In running a family and maintaining a home we try to keep everything running smoothly without losing ourselves in the fray. This blog serves up slices of interest to the well-rounded women, including the following weekly features: Beauty on a Budget, Home and Family, and Do It Herself.

I love magazines, TiVo, food, recipes, books, shopping, shoes & beauty products! And let's not forget blogging - some of my favorites are What About Mom, a little sussy, Bye Bye Pie, A Print a Day, Seriously So Blessed, and Gourmet Mom on the Go. I hope you are a kindred spirit and will bookmark The Well-Rounded Woman or subscribe to my feed.

This week I will give away a childrens chair of my own design. I had one of these as a kid, and when I had a toddler of my own, I looked for the design. When I couldn't find one, I made my own. It is made out of PVC pipe, with a fabric sling seat. I will coordinate with the winner over their fabric choice. (My old one had Strawberry Shortcake on it.) Our chair has been well loved, and spent a significant amount of time in the garage in "time out" when the boys have fought over it. I guess it's time to make another. And I can make one for you too!

Enter to win a chair by leaving a comment on this post, stating how you are a well-rounded woman. Not well-balanced, that's a completely different issue, which we all struggle with. The giveaway is open until midnight on October 31st. I can only ship to the continental US, sorry. I will randomly choose a winner on Saturday morning, while gorging on my sons' Halloween candy. If your e-mail address is not attached to your profile, please leave it in your comment so I can contact you. Thanks for reading!

If you love this chair & want one for your own child (Christmas is around the corner) please e-mail me.

Woot! Awesome chair; and who is that adorable little girl?

To be honest, I don't know if I am well-rounded. I would like to do things myself, but feel like I have ten brown thumbs sometimes. I'd like to be beautiful (who wouldn't?) and cheap, too, but I definitely need some help there too (on the beauty side; I've got the cheap nailed).

Thank goodness The Well-Rounded Woman is here for me!

Thanks for the chance to win! The chairs (& kids!) are adorable!

Can you post the design too? I'd love to make one if I don't win!

I try to be well-rounded--taking time for sewing, reading, "real" cooking and baking (ie, not in the hour before dinner), all things I really enjoy. But often life with 4 little ones gets in the way!

Let's see. I have 4 kids and a husband but still find time to spend with my friends, I homeschool, I like to do crafts, love reading, love cooking but also love to try new restraunts. My favorite hobby is poking around in thrift stores or yard sales. I love my Ipod touch and watching all the different CSI shows. I hate tuna and liver.

I'm well-rounded because I've had 3 children. Not only is my shape more round, but I'm required daily to expand my Mommy job title: nutritionist, chauffeur, educator, executive secretary, tour guide, exercise instructor, short order cook, banker, accountant, beautician, nurse, doctor, researcher, environmental technician (garbage, cleaning, and the like), gardener, organizer... and on and on.

Life requires me to expand my horizons every day; to learn something new and share it with those I love. Do I always like it? No. Do I always get something from it? No. But I do it in one never-ending circle (and cycle).

I'm so in love with my sweetheart and my little ones. Being well-rounded helps me to serve them while serving myself and the God I love.

:)

What a cute chair! I can totally see my 4 kids fighting over it! LOL Well rounded? Hmmm Well, beyond being a mom with 2 kids with special needs, one in remission from Leukemia, a deployed husband and a baby who constantly keeps me on my toes (haha), I enjoy serving on our board of directors for our local Down syndrome association, helping out with our FRG (Army wives in my husband's unit), helping at my kids' school and of course, BLOGGING!!! It's definitely my outlet! I also take the time to read a grown up book, even if it's just a chapter a day, just so I can escape whining and fighting and crying OH MY! :) I don't know if I'm well rounded or completely nuts, but I hope you'll enter me anyway! :)

I'm well rounded because I have to be. I'm a relatively new mom with a husband deployed in the Navy. Things I didn't know how to do (or didn't want to learn how to do) are now no problem. I can use a drill and stud finder with the best of them and still sew my hubby's uniform. In the past few months, I've also learned I have to take care of myself. Spending even 15 minutes a day for me, makes me a better mom and nicer person.

Unknown said...

I don't know how well rounded I am. All I know is that I work to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our back. Due to some tragic circumstances, I had to step up to the plate this last year to become the major breadwinner in my family. I think I have done a pretty good job of providing financially and emotionally.

This is such a cool chair. I bet any of my kids would love it to death!

I'm not sure that I'm well-rounded. I tend to divide my life into three categories: mothering, church, and free time. And my free time is almost always consumed by internet fun. ;) Although I have been branching out and reading a lot more! And while my books of choice are usually fantasy, I'm also branching out to try other fiction genres, and even some non-fiction every now and then. :)

I have not finished my Master's Degree yet, but will get back to that in the next year hopefully. Maybe instead of well-rounded, I am just a square peg trying to fit in a round hole! ;-)

Thanks so much.

I'm well-rounded because I can do almost anything, sometimes I have to do a little research first, but I love to learn about new things. Except budgeting. Hate that.

Hi there!!

I'm well-rounded because I'm a wife, mom, friend. I love to go out and have fun, and stay home and have a quiet night. I love to read, and I love to sing and act in local theater groups. I love to write, and I love to sometimes get OFF THE COMPUTER and enjoy the outdoors!! Well-rounded? Sure -- LOTS of different interests. But well-balanced?? hah -- that's a different story! :)

I would have to say that I am well rounded because I love to cook and watch soap operas, but I can play video games with the best of the guys.

Cute chair! Physcially I am pretty well rounded as I am pregnant again. But, otherwise I would consider myself as a typical mom that loves to learn at every chance I get as you never know what you might like if you don't try. Thanks for the chance to win!

Well, I am a military wife, a scrapbooker when inspiration strikes, a mother to two boys, a quilter, repairer of all manner of broken toys, and am active in my church. I may not be doing them all well, but I'm getting by!
thanks

Well, lets see. I am a mother of 3, I work full time as a secretary. I take care of two pets that were NOT my idea (how does that happen?), I write poetry(have even had some published), love to read when I can find the time, and I love to sew. I sew boutique handmade clothing for my little girl. It's kind of like therapy for me..I would say I am pretty well rounded, wouldn't you? I have 2 little ones under 6 years who would LOVE this chair!!

Thanks!

How am I well-rounded? Well, my figure is quite well-rounded from having my 2nd boy four months ago. I love to cook, bake, read, watch sports, be a wife to my husband, mom to my boys and sister, daughter and friend.

How adorable! You should think about making them to sell! I suppose I'd consider my pie fairly round, with portions for my fam, myself, the critters, work, charity, church.....oopps a few too many portions! Well, I'm working on it!

I don't know that I am well rounded personally, but after 3 kids my body is certainly round, LOL! I certainly wear lots of hats; mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, nurse, confidante, the list goes on and on...
I strive to find the time to fit it all into 24 hours. Sometimes I make it work, many times I am struggling to keep up with it all.

Only by the grace of God can I claim to be a well-rounded woman. It is only through Christ that I can get through all the struggles of motherhood and life that I encounter everyday, whether it be physically, spiritually, or mentally. God is good.

Well after having a baby I am more "well rounded". Pun intended but statement is true. Only by God's grace can I continue to be a well rounded woman during the early life as a mother. I hope that the older I become the more well rounded I become.

Being well-rounded is an on-going struggle, I'm a daughter of God and my parents, a mom of 5 (two in heaven from miscarriage), a wife, a sister, a friend, a certified athletic trainer but currently a SAHM, a classroom mom, I'll attack any project and do my best, currently I am tiling all the bathrooms in our new house. Just putting yourself out there in all aspects of life helps to make you well-rounded.

What a cute chair. My son is 1 and he would LOVE it! I bet he would be in and out of it a hundred times a day!

How am I well rounded? Well, I am a mother to a wonderful little guy and he is the most important thing in my life. But I have a lot else going on! I am married to a great guy. I work as a speech pathologist in a school 4 days a week. I cook, I love to bake, I clean (not my favorite), I knit, I love to travel and we do it as much as we can, I love to read, I like to do remodeling projects around the house. And I am thinking about starting a blog as well! So I guess that is a bit about what makes me well rounded!

Thanks for the giveaway!

Well rounded? Well, I guess it depends on what day you ask! Seems like that's something that changes from day to day. But with a toddler and another baby on the way, it's hard to stay well-balanced!

The best way I can think of being well-rounded is I pretty much manage everything around the house. I somehow get most of it done as needed.

Well-rounded....hmmm... I know I have the "rounded" part pretty well accomplished, the "well" part... I have a husband, 11 children, we homeschool, farm, raise sheep, garden, I love to read, dance, sew, read other people's blogs, am looking to start my own, want to get better at knitting, teach drama, do some minor acting, want to get my flute fixed to get back into playing, and even at 46 feel like there's a lot I want to try before I'm all grown up.

Lizz said...

i think all the kids in my family would love this! They love chairs that are their size and they look so comfy!

I would like to think I am well rounded. I am a SAHM to 3 boys ages 5, 3, and 5 months. I like to cook, read, coupon,go out with friends, spend time with my husband, play trivia with the "team" at a local restaurant..etc, etc. So well rounded, or just plain busy? LOL
