I'm not ashamed to admit that Honeycomb is my all-time favorite breakfast cereal. I don't buy it often because I can eat an entire box dry while watching TiVo for an hour. It's so light and crunchy and addictive! But this week my boys convinced me to buy a box for them as a special spring break treat. While munching on it the first morning I noticed the box said there were 15 free music downloads inside! And hey, I like music.
When I went to http://www.honeycombfreemusic.com/ I found that someone at Post put together a sampler of music, supposedly all new, up-and-coming bands. And since Honeycomb is targeted at kids, it looks like they were careful to keep the lyrics clean, which I appreciate. I have never heard of any of the artists (not that I'm any kind of music guru) but I kinda love all the songs. The boys and I have turned out living room into a dance floor! You can check out the website and hear all the songs full-length without the code and if you like what you hear then run to your grocery store for a box of crunchy, honey goodness and get your code inside to download the album.

Music to My Ears
We have been going to the Maricopa County Library for about a year now. Besides all the lovely books, they have a great selection of music CDs, movies (including new releases), and the latest seasons of tv show. And recently, I applied for my own card rather than bumming off my husband. Because... THEY HAVE FREE MUSIC!
Yes, if you go to their website, you can click over to Freegal Music, where with your library card number & pin you can log on and download three songs a week. All for free. This is run by Sony Music Entertainment and while no iTunes, they have plenty of music for me, including new & current stuff. Libraries nationwide participate so check yours out today. I've been downloading for 3 weeks now & my ears have never been happier!

Thanks for making my day
This YouTube video by Jon Schmidt was the bright spot in a day full of lows (so far). Things are bound to be better after naps.
Thanks to all those who passed it on.

Love This Album
For the second installment of my Artists Series, I have a sultry new musical artist. I found Jason Damato on Amazon's free mp3 downloads. (Did you know they have tons of free downloads? Check here.) They had one song from his debut album available as a free download, Floating Down a River. (Sorry, gone now.) And I ended up purchasing the rest of the album, which is only 6 songs total. My favorite track is Sing You to Sleep. You can purchase Jason's album from Amazon or iTunes.I had never heard of him, but I am loving Jason's voice - it's so smooth, but with a wonderful timbre. His songs are getting a lot of play on my new (again) iPod Touch. Jason Damato seems to be a new artist from LA - you can see some of his self-filmed videos on YouTube. He's a true California surfer-boy and only 21 years old - but you'd never guess he was so young by his music.
I found this website where you can listen to full versions of all of Jason Damato's songs for free.
